Horses are wonderful, beautiful and strong animals. Some are very expensive to purchase; all are expensive to keep. No matter if you keep a horse for your children to ride, or use it for riding lessons or for the race track: you need to look after your horse well. It is an important investment. A sick horse is bad news, a potential loss of your investment, a loss in a creature you love and cherish and also disruptive to your own life.
Horses are highly mobile, agile animals used to running around. Long periods standing in a stable is not good for horses. Their feet are especially constructed to assist the heart to pump blood through the rather large horse body while they run or gallop on a meadow.
When keeping a horse stabled other than on your own premises, it is not always easy to take the horse for a run.
